Contact usTo date, RES has developed and/or constructed 19GW of renewable generation and now provides support services to over 7GW of assets across the world.
During 2020, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, RES completed construction of 2.2GW of new renewable projects including Haut du Saule Wind Farm in France, the Southern Oak Solar Project in the USA, Murra Warra I Wind Farm in Australia and Solwaybank Wind Farm in the UK. The new renewable capacity RES brought online during 2020 will avoid the equivalent of 4.3 million tons of carbon dioxide each year – taking the total avoided emissions from RES’ projects to 19 million tons.
Despite the global pandemic RES has kept the power flowing, with the operational projects it supports now standing at 7GW following significant growth in Australia and the Nordics. During 2020, the company booked more than 23,000 key worker visits on and off projects from its 24/7/365 Control Centre and gained international recognition for its asset management services, including achieving ISO 55001 certification.
Investment in renewables has continued at a pace throughout the year with RES closing deals of more than 800MW of projects in the Nordics, selling its percentage ownership of the 496MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France, the 209MW Murra Warra Wind Farm in Australia, the 200MW Crossett & Delta’s Edge solar projects in the US as well as other wind, solar and energy storage projects in Canada, US, UK and Ireland.
Ivor Catto, CEO, commented: “At this time keeping the power flowing has been a priority and I’m proud of how our people have risen to the challenge in 2020. I am pleased that we have also continued to play our part in bringing forward new renewable power generation in line with our vision ‘to create a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy”.
“Renewable energy remains the cornerstone in tackling our climate emergency and we look forward to another successful year in 2021, as we continue to support our clients across the world and deliver clean power for consumers.”
