by RES | Nov 14, 2024 | Reading time: 2 min

  • The prestigious annual ranking published by the consultancy Wood Mackenzie recognizes RES as the world’s second largest operator in the global O&M ranking of the photovoltaic sector.
  • From 875MW in 2022 to more than 15GW in 2023, RES consolidates its position as a world leader in O&M. It currently has a maintained solar capacity of 16.5 GW and is expanding its presence in new markets.

RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy service provider, has reached a significant milestone in its positioning in the photovoltaic sector. The prestigious consultancy Wood Mackenzie has recognized RES as the second largest Global Solar O&M operator in the world, an achievement that consolidates its leadership in the industry and highlights its exponential growth.

A leading global consulting firm that provides data and analysis for the energy transition, Wood Mackenzie has awarded RES this great recognition following the acquisition of Ingeteam Service in March 2024. The integration has allowed RES to make a giant leap in the global ranking, advancing from 875 MW in Solar in 2022 to more than 15 GW in 2023. Exponential growth has reinforced RES’ position as one of the most experienced operators with the greatest capacity to take on large-scale projects and thus consolidating its role as a benchmark player in the Solar O&M sector worldwide.

New markets

In 2024, RES has continued to outperform with 16.5 GW of solar capacity maintained, and continued growth in new markets. RES’ larger scale of operations and unique value proposition has allowed it to support larger and more complex projects, driving efficiencies through economies of scale and better management of spare parts.

The company has increased its presence in 10 new markets, including Mexico, Chile, Mexico and Brazil in the LATAM region, where the company has achieved a leading position in the solar sector. In Europe and the United States, RES foresees great growth potential and new opportunities in the coming years.

RES provides high quality, reliable services for the growing renewable energy sector. With its extensive experience and ability to manage large-scale projects, RES continues to play a key strategic role in supporting global sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
