We have been working with Anemo now for over four years to help improve the performance of the sites that we manage. Anemo’s analytics have enabled us to identify when a turbine requires preventative maintenance, recalibration and identify issues that require further investigation. Ultimately, Anemo has helped us to reduce downtime and OPEX costs for our customers.”

Rising up to the challenge – how digital innovation can shape the future of the wind industry

Wind energy is a vital part of our journey towards a zero-carbon future.  As well as increasing the pace of deployment we also need to think smarter to use digital innovation across the worldwide operating wind fleet.  Data trends from RES’ analysis show that often two thirds of turbines present…

Increasing annual energy yield with RES digital solutions

The challenge Typically, wind turbines operate to maximise their own energy production, without consideration of their interaction with other turbines across the whole wind farm. They also each have very good information about the wind flow at their location, but they don’t share this information across the wind farm to…

Powering a clean energy future for communities in Sweden

The Ånge Municipality is nestled in the rolling hills and forests of central Sweden, with beautiful scenery and rich in natural resources. But, over recent years it’s people have struggled from the loss of local industry, vital to maintaining a thriving population and community. The people of Ånge are passionate about working with their natural resources to create a clean energy future that will help the community thrive once more.

They have partnered with RES to help transform their municipality into a green energy hub through the development of two green hydrogen plants, one in Alby and a second in Ljungaverk, using available grid capacity.  This innovative and sustainable use of local resources in collaboration with local communities is a demonstration of the RES vision in action, creating a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy.

A green hub for growth

Once completed the plant will become a catalyst for industrial growth in the community and the heart of an emerging green industrial cluster. Conditions such as available land, good access to transport, locally produced green electricity in an area with low electricity prices, process water and green hydrogen, make the Ånge Municipality a very attractive area for new industries.

600 MW

Installed capacity once complete and operational.

100,000 tonnes

Up to 100,000 tonnes of hydrogen gas produced each year.

300 jobs

Up to 300 jobs expected to be directly and indirectly created through the the project and positive impact to the community.

2027

The facilities will be expanded in stages with phase one coming online in 2027 and phase two with a new electricity connection to enable a larger hydrogen plant by 2028.

The demand for green hydrogen is constantly increasing because the requirements are generally strengthened for all businesses to become more environmentally sustainable. Conditions such as available land, good access to transport, locally produced green electricity in a price area with low electricity price, process water and green hydrogen, makes the Ånge Municipality a very attractive area for new industries.
