Kontakta ossThroughout this year RES’ asset management and O&M teams have continued to keep renewable projects operating, helping to keep the lights on for 2.4 million homes. Responsible for 3GW or 10% of the UK’s renewable energy generation capacity RES has also proactively carried out ‘major works’ at some of the 76 onshore wind farms or 742 turbines, 61 solar farms, 3 storage projects and 6 offshore transmission assets.
In its nomination RES was also commended for its 24/7/365 Control Centre based in Glasgow which provides monitoring, site access, fault escalation, emergency response and grid services for operational projects across the globe. Since April RES has booked more than 23,000 key workers onto wind, solar and storage sites across the UK&I, with specialist engineers bringing wind turbines and solar arrays back online.
Darren Cook, RES’ Asset Management Director, said: “We’re very proud of our key workers for the way they have adapted and tackled every new challenge head on in 2020. As a result, we’ve been able to use our experience and capabilities to help keep renewable energy projects running, whilst also maximising their performance.
“This award is testament to the skill and commitment of those at RES in going above and beyond for our clients and every electricity consumer in the country.”
