On 19th March, Renato Machado, our Regional Services Director Latam, will be speaking as part of the EnergYear Chile conference in Santiago. 

Chile has established itself as a leader in renewable energy in Latin America, surpassing 40% of its total energy production from clean sources in 2024. This achievement has been driven by its privileged geography, clear public policies, legal and economic stability, and the tireless efforts of the energy sector, which has promoted projects across the country to contribute to the diversification of its energy matrix. 

The Chilean market has also been a benchmark thanks to advances in decarbonisation, green hydrogen, and energy storage – the latter being a highly relevant focus in the sector. Energy storage has played a key role in ensuring the stability of the country’s electrical system, with over a dozen projects under construction and an investment exceeding US$4 billion. 

However, many challenges still lie ahead as the country continues to navigate its success and the constant evolution of the system and sector: attracting investment and capital, strengthening infrastructure, consolidating more projects, and more. 

Therefore, Energyear Chile 2025 emerges as a key opportunity to kick off the annual energy sector agenda on the right foot, bringing together top leaders, companies, entities, and associations in one place to continue fostering networking, business opportunities, and development in the country through renewable energy. 

The conference will bring together 700 attendees comprised of industry leaders, government officials and experts to discuss challenges and advancements in the renewable energy sector.
