Steamboat-Winters project will upgrade an existing line in Taylor County, Texas to 138-kV specification

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has been named as a contractor on the Electric Transmission Texas (ETT) transmission line Steamboat – Winters Project.

Electric Transmission Texas (ETT) is a joint venture between subsidiaries of American Electric Power (AEP) and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company.

The project consists of a 10-mile transmission line near Abilene, Texas. With completion expected in early June 2022, the Steamboat-Winters project involves removal of an existing 69-kV line and rebuilding to 138-kV specification. RES completed the first phase on behalf of ETT when it completed rebuilding the section between Tuscola and Bradshaw last month.

About RES:

RES’ Transmission & Distribution construction division is a core area of strategic growth, offering a broad range of self-perform services ranging from site/civil through above grade, and including maintenance and emergency restoration. RES crews are capable of supporting large and complex substation, storage, transmission line and distribution projects – ranging from 12kV to 500kV – for utility, cooperative, renewable and industrial clients.
